unbox the first frame

Canon's long standing strategy of influencer collabs opened up an opportunity to think outside the box.
Our goal was the craft native creator style content that fit seamlessly into social feeds or aspiring creators and filmmakers with brand campaign undertones.
Without scripts, storyboards and only a vision in mind, we traveled far and wide in order to telegraph the rush and excitement of unboxing a Canon Camera for the first time.

With every new camera comes the anticipation of the first big shot. What’s yours?
With Canon, the rush is not in the package but in the capture. The moment you get your hands on new gear, you go right in. All you can think of is attaching a new lens to get that first shot.
We set out to showcase content that looked visually complicated but was elevated through the use of Canon consumer camera equipment.

Shots such as first person POVs with unique lensing, locked-ons, dutch angles, makeshift dolly shots, gimbal-inspired shots, fun whip pans, and creative tracking shots.
We collaborated intensely with Canon Creator, Karl Shakur to bring the cinematography to life.
What comes after the unboxing is what really matters. We highlight those some of those grand first shot moments — a self made studio shoot, visual poetry in the wilderness and a beautiful phenomena during a bucket list journey.

yet rewarding experience. It provides an
opportunity to experiment with long exposures
and different lighting techniques.
A journey like this not only embodies the destination
but the pilgrimage to get there, combining
